Neon Sunset Gradient with Stamping & Holo

So apparently this blog will be heavy on the nail art. Last weekend I decided to go all out and do a gradient. Then I stamped it. Then I couldn't even and I added some Northern Lights. This is what I got.

I used three neon cremes from the Pipe Dream Polish A Night In Vegas Collection. I lucked out and got these on the third restock, I guess she doesn't make them anymore? Shame, because they are perfection in every way. I used On The List (neon pink), 110 Degrees (neon orange), and V.I.P. Pass (neon purple). I used PUEEN Liquid Latex on my cuticles and painted three strokes in a row of the polish, then just dabbed away. I found that once I finished a coat I could start right over within a couple minutes, but it did take four passes with my sponge. It was a glorious gradient! Hint: cheap wedge sponges from Walmart work the best.

I then used an image from the Bundle Monster Blogger Collaboration with Lucy's Stash. I used my trusty Rica Blackout and my clear stamper, which was gifted to me by the lovely Kendahl from Firecracker Lacquer, to place the image on my nail. At this point I tried to take off my liquid latex, but my sponging was so thick that only the latex peeled off and left a sheet of gradient. Fail. I used an orange stick to perforate the edges around my nail and gently peeled away with my trusty curved Nail Art Tweezers.

So after that mishap I used HK Girl to seal my stamping--I've never been able to keep from smearing my stamping with anything but HK Girl! I did an initial round of clean-up at this point. And yeah, I forgot what a friggity friggin' mess gradients are to clean up, especially super-pigmented neons in your cuticles. I added some Northern Lights on top after that because I just didn't know when to stop. It looks fantastical though, no? And if you don't already have INM Northern Lights or know what it is, you need it. Trust. As with most neons, my camera was no match for the intense saturation of the Pipe Dreams so imagine it even brighter.

Of course I have to open with some nail art! I do enjoy making teeny works of art from nail polish. I've tried nail wraps before but it doesn't compare to some old-fashioned nail stamping. Since refocusing my energy into myself, family, and home in the last couple years I haven't done as much nail art. This is the first time I've busted out my stamping since February 2016 (according to IG@shelbylounails). I enjoyed creating this mani immensely. I kept smiling and waving my nails in my husband's face. He liked it, promise.

I need to get my old lightbox set-up back out, this lighting is atrocious. I'll blame it on the neon. For this mani I started out with a base of Cult Nails Tempest. Tempest is supposed to be a one-coat white, I did two lighter coats to get full coverage though in order for it to dry better. I then very lightly dry-b…

Review of Undersummers by CarrieRae

I am so excited to share this review with you guys! I first saw these amazing shortlettes, Undersummers by CarrieRae, advertised on instagram. I went to check out the website and after some easy-peasy navigation and descriptions, immediately purchased four pairs. I don't know what genius this CarrieRae lady was struck with, but these are pretty much my new secret weapon for dresses.

Undersummers are advertised on their home page as "Super Comfy," "Always Fun," and "Absolutely Not Shape Wear!" Alright, I'm in! I knew I needed to check out the Size Chart first and it was next in line on the menu--it's like this website was reading my mind. Anyway, I'm a plus-size woman and I was delighted to find they carry sizes US Small to 4X, basically the sizing equivalent of NY & Company through Lane Bryant. My next stop was their "Fit" tab to read about the styles and features. On each page of the style they also have a key with main fea…

SeneGence Mascara: UnderSense & LashSense Review

Disclosure: I am a SeneGence Distributor and bought this product for myself with my distributor discount.
My go-to mascara used to be a cheapie wash-off waterproof that started with A and ended in von. It was alright, it was indeed waterproof and I did not have any flaking... but I got zero volume from it. I tried a lot of other more volumizing mascaras and still had too much flaking, so I just called it a day and only dreamed of pretty lashes. Since LipSense by SeneGence has exceeded all of my expectations of a lip color ever, I figured I needed to give mascara another shot.
I present to you UnderSense and LashSense from SeneGence! A volumizing and waterproof mascara that stays put. I was totally prepared to be underwhelmed but I have been wearing and loving this mascara for the past month now. This mascara comes in a handy dual-ended tube of volumizer (UnderSense) and mascara (LashSense). UnderSense is a moisturizing lash-builder that is gray, but I promise it won't show once y…
